Cemetery
Trinity Anglican Church Cemetery is a public cemetery owned and cared for by Trinity Anglican Church serving people of all faiths. The cemetery is still providing burial services and lots are still available. It is part of the property deeded to the Anglican Church by Colonel Mahlon Burwell. Some of the markers in this cemetery predate the building of the church by as early as 1818.In 1974 a section of the church property was surveyed and marked into 336 burial lots. In the year 2000, as part of incorporating the first set of governmentally approved bylaws, an additional 100 cremation burial lots were created by subdividing 20 of the standard lots. Some consideration is being given to the future development of a Scattering Grounds and Memorial Garden for those who choose this type of interment.
In 2003, we dedicated Memory Lane and the trees planted along the driveway and in the nearby yard. The marker stone with the names of those who have donated trees in memoriam was paid for by donations in memory of David Mason and the trees were donated by individuals at no cost to the cemetery. Our work to maintain and care for the cemetery continues, thanks to donations made by members of the Trinity family. Donations have also been received towards the cost of repairing broken stones. Thank you to those who support efforts in this regard.
